The Israeli regime assassinated Ismail Haniyeh on Wednesday, as the Hamas chief was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Addressing an open session of the parliament in Tehran on Sunday, Ghalibaf extended condolences on the martyrdom of Haniyeh and said with Iran’s response to the assassination will make the Zionist regime and its supporters, especially the United States, regret the move.
Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has not witnessed a day and will not see one in the future in which an aggression on its dignified sovereignty remains unanswered, he stated.
The Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) seeks a deterrent reaction to avenge the assassination of the country’s dear guest while safeguarding the national interests, he stressed.
He further said the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation by the Hamas resistance movement in October last year was the beginning of the end of the Zionist regime and since then, the regime has fully failed to achieve its goals of preventing the regime’s security and political collapse.
